Blogs From Mexico
(Hannah Frye) - When we went to Mexico two years ago, we were blessed to have a work site that had plenty of kids. It was such a joy to play with them all day and it became a staple to our daily activities in Tecate. This year, we were hoping that once again we would be building a house in a neighborhood filled with children. The family we are building a house for (or two houses!) has two small children and we were thrilled with that! After we had begun working on the house, a few of us walked around the neighborhood to "round up the kids." We weren't very successful, but still excited to begin playing and ministering to the few we found. Not ten minutes after we arrived back from our walk, at least seven kids came running down the hill to our site. It was amazing to see all of their smiling faces, excited to play with us. It was so awesome to see how God answered our prayers for children. Throughout the day we had a constant flow of kids coming and going. I can't wait to see them all again tomorrow and see how our relationship with them will grow this week.
(David Schappell) - We've been praying that our two job sites would be close to each other so we wouldn't miss out on anything and we could share this experience with each other. We prayed that we wouldn't be complaining about the people on our team. One of the other teams actually had two job sites and that were so far apart they had to drive several minutes between them. The Bridge Church team was blessed enough to be placed at two job sites close enough you could jump from one house to the other. Praise the Lord!
