Updates from Mexico!
Praise God! All our travel went great. We arrived in Tecate, Mexico around 5pm (pacific time) on Sunday night. Our team was pretty wiped out from spending the day traveling across the country.
-Today was absolutely incredible. We showed up at our worksite, and within minutes were playing with the kids in the streets. The rest of our group began construction on our house we are builing for a Mexican family(which by the way is 12ft x 16ft). We worked hard all till about 2pm, and completed 3 of the 4 walls. Much of our group played all day with the kids. At one point we drew quite a crowd of kids. We played soccer (futbol), frisbee, and duck, duck, goose!
7/14- (Taylor Bricker) "Today was a really amazing day! As soon as we got to the work sight there were kids everywhere! They were so sweet and so much fun to play with. They were really patient with us too, considering we didn't know much spanish. They all seemed so happy and they had nothing! I can't wait to go back tomorrow! It has been an amazing trip so far! I'm so excited and can't wait to see what God's going to do through our group!!"
-(Dylan Stine) - "Today was awesome. It started out with us showing up and tons of kids talking to us...i had no idea what they were saying but they looked happy. we went right into to talking to family and then started building. today we got 3 walls standing on the foundation and the forth wall halfway done. playing with the kids was amazing. even though there was a language barrier...it didnt really matter. we played soccer and jumpropped, and facepainted. they loved every second we were there. it makes you really appriciate what you have and im very happy that god is using me in mexico (GOD BLESS).
7/16-(Pastor Josh) HOLA! Well today the wireless internet is working! It was down yesterday, which is why there were no updates. The week has been full of blessings. We came thinking we were the blessing to these people, but it turns out they are just as much a blessing to us. We have been working hard everyday! Our house is almost done, and VBS is going great. It has been truly amazing how love transcends any language barrier there is. We are dreading friday when we have to say goodbye to all our new amigos! We'll do our best to update you tomorrow, but it's not a guarantee we'll get service.
